Havas shuttle buses (€5,7/YTL10) run to Taksim Sq every 30/15 minutes (4am- 9am/9am-1am). To Sultanahmet, take the metro to Zeytinburnu, then the fast tram (both €0,85/1.5YTL).
Day
Visit Hagia Sophia in Sultanahmet Sq. In its day, this Byzantine cathedral was the most important religious building in the western world. Its domed interior is still an architectural wonder.
Evening
Go to Mesale Café (45 Arasta Carsisi, Sultanahmet, +90 (0)212 518 9562) for delicious kebabs, beer and live Turkish Fasil music most nights.
